Dancing African in Asia

Today i bought my new Hello Kitty geeky glasses at Saigon Square.  I was so happy that i decided to dance to my favorite African music.  I also bought some Kpop music and my favorite Vietnamese singer Mỹ Tâm. I'm learning Mỹ Tâm's songs, she is very popular here in Vietnam.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the dance...

Our driver Mai and my family in South Africa

Yesterday i asked my mom to take a picture of our driver Mai.  Mai is very good he takes us everywhere we want to go.  In Vietnam people use motorbikes to go places. It's important to have a driver who is careful because of the traffic.  When we first moved here i was shocked to see millions and millions of people on motor bikes. I guess i am now used to it.

Two days ago I got to spoke with my Aunt Khulile in South Africa.  I asked her to send a picture of my cousins Fiki and Kwanda.  I really miss my cousins.  My Aunt promised they will visit us next year.

The Zoo

I have been busy with my school work.  My teacher Christina is on a vacation in Bali and Ubud, Indonesia for a week.  My dad is in Bangkok, Thailand as well as Bangladesh, Dhaka for work.  I am excited i will be starting cooking and pottery class this week at the Japanese school.  Both the cooking and pottery class will be interesting.  I will post some pictures of the class later.

This weekend my mom and I went to the zoo to see some animals.  I can't say much i will let the pictures speak for themselves.

On my last blog i forgot to post a picture of the mooncake our landlord gave us during moon festival:
Last weekend i had another sleepover at my friends house Mae and Phuong.  The following day they had a huge party celebrating their new house.  There were about 30 people at the party.  It was my first time at a Vietnamese party. This was the day after the party.

Visiting Pagoda and Mariamman Hindu Temple

Last Sunday our driver picked us up to go to the Pagoda and the Hindu Temple.  Outside the Pagoda there is a big pond where people feed the turtles - some big and some are small - for good luck, health and to have their sins forgiven.
The temple is small and crowded with people praying.  Inside there are many small rooms with different Gods on display and offering of incense, oil and flowers.  The smoke from the incense was strong and made my eyes watery.  The rooms are full with unusual statues, and we saw a couple pray to one of the Gods for a baby.  There is also a room upstairs with some Buddha statues with blinking lights.

We then drove to the Hindu Temple called Mariamman Hindu Temple.  Inside Mariamman Temple we had to take off our shoes.  This temple is for the Hindu goddess Mariamman.  A lot of Chinese and Vietnamese believe this is a very holy temple and that goddess Mariamman can make miracles. There was a priest giving people luck and some people brought fruits, flowers and oil.  I was given an incense to light and was showed how the Hindu's pray. My mom said being at the temple felt like being in India.  At first i was not sure what i was doing but my mom told me to look at the older ladies.  One of the Indian guys who worked at the temple showed us around and allowed us to take pictures. It felt good to understand all these religions and being part of them.
Next i want to visit the Bhuddist monks and see Cao Dai religion.
